Learning Objectives:
PRODUCT: I can draw from several sources in order to present information on a famous civil rights figure or noteworthy event focusing on displays of courage. (W.7.7)
PERFORM: I can locate credible digital and print sources and appropriately paraphrase and cite information using MLA style to avoid plagiarism. (W.7.8.)

Guidelines/Requirements for the Mini-Research Project: Creating the visual presentation:
Information collected by answering the research questions will be compiled into a Presentation (Prezi, PowerPoint, etc.)
All information in your presentation must be transferred into the group's own words. DO NOT COPY/PASTE words from the link.
Must include at least 1 visual (picture).
The presentation will only contain "salient" points, meaning it will only contain "main ideas" or bullet points that need additional explanation from the speaker.
Dos and Don’ts for the Visual Presentation:
Two or three main messages
Keep it short and simple
Use bulleted items
Use size 32 to 44 point for titles
No smaller than 28-point for the text or bulleted items.
Keep it consistent
Adding photos can enhance audience interest—must include at least 1.
During the Oral Presentation:
All members must participate/contribute when speaking to the audience.
Speakers will not read directly from the visual/slide--the slides will only contain salient points.
Speakers may hold brief notecards to refer to while speaking to the audience---but they may not read directly off of the cards!
Speakers must rehearse ahead of time, and come prepared.
Speakers must make eye contact, avoid distracting movements or behaviors, and will speak in a confident tone with audible volume.
